You may have noticed that I didn't post anything on my blog/site between June 24th and September 22nd. This is because I left for Rome on my birthday, June 22nd, and enjoyed a fabulous trip through Rome, Florence and Milan...but I was mainly in Italy for the wedding of my oldest daughter. The gorgeous event took place in beautiful Lake Como! The bride and setting...and food as well...were all absolutely stunning!
Then...I came home to AZ for a couple weeks (and cooked, see photos below) but soon left for Brooklyn to stay with my younger daughter for the birth of her first child. I stayed for one month on Coney Island (where they were living temporarily...Mets minor league season...her husband's job.) This is where I became a grandparent, or "Jamma" for the first time! (To the cutest, sweetest, baby boy, Carter.) I also found great comfort in just being in my daughter's kitchen each night to prepare dinner, with all the sweet taking-care-of-a-newborn sounds in the background.
Also while in NY, one of my closest friends came to visit and we enjoyed a weekend in Manhatten together. So much fun! These "missing" three months on my blog was a super busy time but SO full of joy...big beautiful life events! I've included some photos below of the really special moments over this time period, and the snapshot above is the fabric from my "mother-of-the-bride" dress. My daughter picked it out and I loved it!.
