Linens and tea cups make me smile. I'm not sure if it's memories of grandmothers sharing tea, of mini tea parties with my own daughters, or the cheerful colors...the flowers and pastel backgrounds, or the contrast of textures, the softness of good linen and the crisp and cool feel of china. I imagine it's a mixture of all these things. But what I find most delightful is a tea cup of red wine with a great burger, or a linen tablecloth underneath my quick breakfast-for-one on a work day. It's the little things, or the mixture of rugged or rushed, accentuated and improved with something fragile and beautiful. And of course flowers on the table are an added bonus. Eyes opened or closed, I'm transported to the smells, beauty and calm of possibilities.
